James Langlands, 1909. Single storey and single storey and attic, twin-gabled auction rooms. Red brick, harled to front, corrugated sheet roof to right hand bay, slate to left hand bay. Plain timber bargeboards.
FRONT ELEVATION: bay to right; three 12-pane metal windows. Bay to left; bipartite 2-pane timber sash and case window to centre with continuous segmental hoodmould, 2-leaf doors to right, further bipartite window to attic, coped stack with 2 cans to left hand ridge.
INTERIOR: not seen.
Built for Robert Curr, auctioneer, this building is an important component in the streetscape and remains in use as an auctioneers premises (1994). The drawings suggest the present structure partly derives from an earlier building.
