Description

William Alexander 1867-70. 6 neo-Tudor tenements on corner site, 3-storey basement and attic, becoming full 4-storey on Constitution Road. Coursed rubble with painted ashlar dressings, bull-faced basement. Elevation to BaRRACKA Road, nos 2 and 4: depressed arches at ground and 1st floors, linking hoodmould at 1st, shouldered arches at 2nd, some with corbelled balconies. Outer canted and shallow rectangular bays at 1st and 2nd. Nos 6-10 similar but without depressed arches. Canted end bays rise through each floor at Nos 8 and 10. Large shouldered wallhead stacks at centres of nos 4-10. 2-light depressed arched dormers. Elevation to Constitution Road in similar style. 3-light quadrant corner. 4-bays to left, alternatively blind. 3 S-most bays have different floor levels and gablet dormerheads between wallhead stacks. 2-bays slightly advanced with ground floor gabletted mains door. Slate roofs with ridge and wallhead stacks. Windows sash and case, 2-pane glazing pattern. Wrought-iron railings with cast-iron finials to Barrack Road. Modern railings to Constitution Road.
