Probably John MacLeod, architect. Built circa 1870-80.
Symmetrical, 2-storey and attic double villa. Coursed stugged
ashlar, with polished dressings. Main doors on side walls
with gabled timber porches. Principal south elevations each
house has 2 bays, 2-storey canted windows in outer bays,
faceted roofs; projecting central ground floor windows,
bipartites above. Continuous string at 1st floor cill level;
windows all in roll-moulded architraves, either mullioned,
transomed or both. Dormers with barge boards. Symmetrically
placed stacks; finialed and slated roofs, steeply piended
over slightly taller outer bays.
Simple, square, polished ashlar gatepiers have pointed
octagonal caps; decorative cast-iron gates.
B group with 6, 8 and 10 Dixon Drive.
