Circa 1820. 2-storey classical house, with symmetrical 5-bay
south front and lower service wing extending to north. Polished
ashlar. South elevation: slightly advanced and pedimented
central bay with double pilastered doorpiece, recessed
panelled door with pilastered jambs and rectangular fanlight;
1st floor tripartite above. Single windows in remaining bays,
corniced at ground floor and with corbelled cills; all
windows 12-pane sashes in architraves. Broad angle pilasters.
Eaves course, cornice and blocking course; corniced end
stacks, and shallow-pitched piended slate roof. 2-bay side
elevation. Round-headed stair window at north in advanced
central bay.
Interior: most larger rooms subdivided, but some ceiling
plasterwork survives; cast-iron stair balusters. Low 2-storey
wing has central door on east elevation, flanked by
bipartites.
3 square, polished ashlar, panelled and corniced gatepiers to
east; simple cast-iron gates.
Now property of Argyll and Clyde Health Board.
Grounds were laid out for feuing in 1884 by John MacLeod
architect (see SRO, RHP 20, 108)
