STEADING: Late 18th century steading. 2 adjoining blocks
running W-E. Rendered sandstone rubble and pantiles.
W block single storey, no openings; altered opening on S
front; with horsemill abutting to right.
E BLOCK: single storey and basement at rear. Slated easing
course; gable stack. 3 enlarged, blind windows on N front.
Asymmetrical S front with entrance. Small gable head window
in E gable.
HORSEMILL: Mid 19th century octagonal horsemill. Squared
coursed rubble; pantiled with ridge tiles. Doorway to S.
Horsemill not indicated on J Wood plan of 1830; masonry
different from steading, so probably mid 19th century.
Earlier name possibly Countess Croft, as sited by Countess
Crescent.
