Early 19th century. Former iron mill, now converted to residential use, in Ironmills complex (other buildings listed separately). 3-storey and attic block, and block to S; single storey and attic wing to E; single storey wing to N, linked to Miller's House. Some modern additions to S. Rubble; ashlar dressings. Raised margins to 4-centred arched openings, many replaced. Moulded angle margins with corniced detail.
W ELEVATIONS: 2-bay. Regularly disposed fenestration, larger windows at ground. Half-vesica in gablehead, flanked by 2 small blind oculi. Modern rubble wall with forestair attached to right.
S ELEVATION: gabled block, with separate roof, abuts to right. Modern rubble and glazed additions at ground (former site of lean-to wheel-house) and at 1st and 2nd floors in re-entrant angle to left and centre. Window at 2nd floor to left and slapped door at 1st floor to outer left. Small oculus at 2nd floor at centre. Window at 2nd floor at centre above modern additions on W return. S elevation of block 2-bay: door in right bay to ground floor with short replacement flight of steps; regular fenestration, except right bay window out-of-line to left at 1st floor; half-vesica in gablehead; blocked opening at basement to left (formerly one to right, now hidden by forestair). Bull blocks to left at basement and ground.
E ELEVATION: 3-storey block to left: single fenestrated bay; blocked opening at basement to right; bull blocks to right. Advanced single storey, attic and basement gabled block abuts blank gable of main block recessed to right: window on S return, with small oculus flanking to right, and blocked opening at basement to left; small window in gablehead and machinery door slapped at basement to left on E elevation.
N ELEVATION: 4 steps to entrance on recessed block to outer left, flanked by window to left. Regularly disposed fenestration in 2 bays to right. Blocked opening at basement to right. Single storey wing projects to right, linking Iron Mill to Miller's House (see separate listing): basement door and relieving arch to right on E return, flanked by slit to right, and window at ground floor to left; window to left on W elevation, small oculus above.
10-lying-pane glazing pattern in original form. Coped skews. Coped stacks to W, S and E gables. Grey slates.
