Description

Earlier 19th century. 3-storey, 2-bay terraced tenement with shop at ground. Squared and coursed rubble; ashlar dressings. Raised margins and angle margins. Eaves course and cornice.

E (HIGH STREET) ELEVATION: modern timber-clad shop front, with door to left, intercepting 1st floor cills. Regular fenestration at 1st and 2nd floors.

W ELEVATION: modern 3-storey gabled addition running W.

N ELEVATION: adjoined to Nos 89 and 91 High Street (see separtate listing).

S ELEVATION: adjoined to Nos 83 and 85 High Street (see separate listing).

Plate glass glazing pattern in sash and case windows. Truncated stack to S. Coped skews. Purple slates.

Statement of Interest

B Group with Nos 67-71, 75, 77 and 79, 81, 83 and 85, 89 and 91, and 93 High Street, and No 1 Edinburgh Road. This building is listed as a largely unaltered member of Dalkeith High Street and in respect of its neighbors.
