Public house composed of 3 units:
east, middle, and west:
1) East range. Late 19th century. Painted snecked rubble with
broached ashlar quoins and plain margins.
High Street front: 2-storey with attic, 3-bay house. Base
course. Architraved doorpiece with segmental pediment. 2-pane
sash windows. Eaves band. Market Street elevation: 2-storey
over basement, 3-bay, 2-pane sashes except ground floor
centre where Venetian with blind sidelights. Eaves band,
interrrupted by shouldered modern stack.
2) Middle range. Circa 1840 2-storey with attic, 4-bay stable
block, converted into bar and dwelling. Painted broached
ashlar. Pends at centre left and right. Former door to bar
with sidelights, segmental cornice above. 2-pane sashes.
Slate roof with gabletted dormer raised through eaves, and
brick end stacks.
3) Mid-19th century outbuildings. Painted rubble. At left:
2-storey with pend and sash window above.
Slate roof. At right: 2-storey with lintelled pend and loft
door above.
Skewed gable to street front.
Corrugated iron roof.
