Earlier to mid 19th century. Single storey and raised basement 3-bay house, as 2-storey on falling ground to rear, with piend and platform roof. Coursed, droved and stugged ashlar with droved long and short work margins and base course.
W (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: architraved openings; flight of steps to panelled door with plate glass fanlight at centre 1st floor over part basement, windows in flanking bays at both floors.
E ELEVATION: symmetrical. Centre deep-set flush-panelled door with 6-pane fanlight and windows in flanking bays, regular windows at 1st floor.
12-pane glazing pattern in timber sash and case windows. Graded grey slates with coped ashlar wallhead stacks and moulded cans.
INTERIOR: some decorative plasterwork cornicing, timber fire-surrounds and stone stair.
OUTBUILDING, BOUNDARY WALL AND RAILINGS: single storey rubble wash-house at part-basement level. Door to E and window to S with adjacent stone water tank draining to inside of wash-house. Coped rubble boundary walls with modern cast-iron railings and 19th century cast-iron railings with curved handrail.
2-level house retaining original features, and as such a good example of an unusual type.
