18th century. 3-storey, 3-window coursed rubble front.
Shops. 4-storey set back portion with semi-elliptical arch
to Bishops' Close, at rear of which are remains of pend into
the channonry. Semi-circular rear stair turret. Upper part of
rear elevation disastrously altered. Slated roof,
straight skews and skewputts, chimneys rebuilt in brick,
southmost truncated.
This pend formed part of 'Carnok Tower' which was part of
the episcopal palace built in the time of Bishop Crannach
(1426-532). Group as above.
