Description

Originally late Georgian, remodelled in late classic manner
circa 1870. Large symmetrical 3-storey ashlar fronted mansion
with set-back single storey wings. Canted square-columned
porch with half circular column insets at the splayed bays,
balustraded parapet, flanked by shallow rectangular
tripartite bays at ground floor. Central Venetian window in
centre pedimented bay with bracketed iron balcony at
second floor. Raised quoins 2nd floor string and bracketed
eaves courses. Piended slated roof with central flat and
decorative iron rail crown. Broad ashlar stacks with shaped
haunches. North and south wings originally identical,
pedimented with lunettes, north wing retains its tripartite,
south wing has later canted bay. Short links with arched
windows. 2-storey 3-window piend roofed outshot at back of
main block single-storey count of outbuildings.
