Description

Dated 1770. 3-storey, 4-bay frontage to Bridge Street with 2-bay rear wing forming L-plan. Rubble, tooled ashlar dressings. Large late l9th century shopfront fills ground floor; original regular fenestration in lst and 2nd floors; 2 very small 2nd floor windows under wallhead, slightly larger in 2-bay front gable with apex stack. 4-pane glazing in timber sash and case windows. Rear wing with later dormer break wallhead and single small 2nd floor window with original 6-pane glazing. Coped end stacks; slate roof.

Statement of Interest

Bridge Street opened in 1770; no 36 one of the original houses constructed in the street. Dated E skewputt.
