Later 19th century. 2-storey, 6-bay mirrored pair of villas. Painted coursed sandstone (rubble to sides). Base course; 1st floor cill course; eaves course; cornice; blocking course.
N (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: central pilastered, corniced and block-pedimented doorpiece to each villa; timber doors; letterbox fanlights; single windows flanking at ground floor; regular fenestration at 1st floor.
Plate glass and 8-pane timber sash and case windows. Grey slate roof; stone skews; gablehead and ridge stacks; circular and polygonal cans.
INTERIORS: not seen 1998.
GATEPIERS AND BOUNDARY WALL: tall, square-plan gatepier to vehicular entrance to left; pair of gatepiers to right; low coped boundary wall enclosing entrance elevation.
Miller Place (as it was originally named, after Provost Hugh Miller) was laid out as a turnpike road in 1846, but houses were not erected until the 1850s/1860s.
