Later 19th century. 2-storey, 6-bay mirrored pair of houses. Painted coursed sandstone, exposed to W elevation. Base course; eaves course; cornice; strip quoins. Architraves and cill blocks to window openings.
N (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: steps to 2 central entrances; cavetto-splayed, round-arched, corniced (mutual), block-pedimented consoled doorpieces; timber doors; fanlights; 2 single windows aligned above at 1st floor. Regular fenestration to outer bays.
4-pane timber sash and case windows. Grey slate roof; stone skews; coped gablehead brick stacks; circular and polygonal cans.
INTERIORS: not seen 1998.
GATES: 2-leaf iron gate to outer right (mutual with Nos 15 and 17).
A good example of later 19th century architecture leading to St John the Baptist's Tower (see separate list description). Of particular note are the cavetto-splayed round-arched consoled doorpieces and the retention of its 4-pane timber sash and case windows.
