Later 19th century. Single storey and attic, 6-bay mirrored pair of cottages. Polished ashlar; rubble to sides. Base course; cornice. Decorative finials at attic.
NE (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: entrances to penultimate bays to outer left and right; round-arched, keyblocked doorpieces rise from pilaster strips; patera frieze; consoled dentilled cornices; timber doors; fanlights. Bipartite windows to inner bays; moulded labelmoulds; scrolled scallop motif within; canted outer bays. Central small round-arched dormers at attic; flanking canted dormers. Timber gate to 6A to outer right.
Plate glass timber sash and case windows. Grey slate roof; stone skews; moulded skewputts; corniced gablehead stacks; circular cans.
INTERIORS: not seen 1998.
BOUNDARY WALL: low coped rubble boundary wall; replacement iron entrance gates to outer left and right.
A good example of the small urban cottage type, following the pattern book tradition and distinguished by fine detailing. Note especially, the consoled door cornices and the scrolled scallop motifs within the moulded labelmoulds.
