Robert Stevenson, engineer, 1826. Large roadbridge, 3
segmental arches (each span approx 21 m) carrying A75 over
River Annan. Red ashlar, with rounded semi-domed cutwaters
either side, channelled voussoirs and outer pilaster strips
to battered abutments: flat roadway. String course below
parapets.

In 1814 Thomas Telford inspected the earlier bridge and
declared it to be beyond repair (D1/1/15 p. 361).
