Style of David Hamilton, mid 19th century. Single storey, asymmetrical Italianate lodge. Sandstone ashlar. Chamfered reveals; base course; quoins: moulded cills on brackets; bracketted timber eaves, painted bracketted ashlar painted cills.
S (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: advanced block with piend-roofed canted bay at centre. Pilasterd porch entrance in re-entrant angle to right, blind pierced balustrade on left side of porch, later 12-pane fixed glazing above; door on return right brought-forward, 4-panelled with plate glass letterbox fanlight. Bipartite window on block to right of porch. 2-bay block recessed to right, windows symmetrically placed, bipartite window to outer right. Single storey, lean-to addition at W side, harled with red sandstone dressings. 3 bay rendered block at rear.
8-pane sash and case windows; grey slate piend and platformed; tall harled and coped apex and wallhead stacks; later rendered wallhead stack at rear.
The lodge was the former lodge to Laggary House. The original avenue is now gone and the grounds have been developed for housing. Laggary House is now divided into flats and is listed separately.
