Early to earlier 19th century. Single storey T-plan classical gate lodge, comprised of rectangular-plan pyramidally roofed block at W, with square-plan, piend-roofed block adjoined to E further sympathetic addition 1990 replacing earlier addition. Cream sandstone ashlar frontage to drive, and dressintgs to all elevations; squared and snecked whinstone to side elevations.
W ELEVATION: stone mullioned tripartite window to bowed bay at centre with curved roof; blank wall-plane flanking.
S ELEVATION: door at centre of rectangular-plan block at left, deep-set, flush-panelled door with glazed upper panels; window to slightly recessed rear wing at right.
GATES, GATEPIERS, QUADRANTS: 2-leaf wrought-iron gates. 2 square ashlar gatepiers with cornice and caps by lodge, 2 square ashlar piers, with ashlar urn finials by roadside. Quadrant walls of whinstone, squared and snecked, with ashlar sandstone base course and rounded coping.
Piers and quadrants are contemporary with lodge.
