Walled garden early 17th century; sundial dated 1766.
WALLED GARDEN: 3 sides of a rectangle adjoining house at S, formerly a defensive barmkin, circa 1614. Drystone coursed rubble, some remaining moulded coping stones and shot holes. 2 entrance gates, 1 with round- headed stone gabled overthrow. Later lower wall with railings linking to house at NW.
SUNDIAL: baluster shaped moulded ashlar column on plinth; metal dial (now stored in house) dated MDCCLXVI.
There are several ancient yew trees between the house and sundial. In an A group with Gagie House, Summerhouse, Gatepiers and Adjoining Walls, Outer Gatepiers and Adjoining Walls, Coach House/Stable, and Home Farm. See also NOTES for Gagie House.
