Late 18th century in appearance.Jerkin-roofed and pantiled,free-standing steading block,in prominent street corner position in village.Roughly-squared,coursed and pinned rubble.Rectangular-plan;2 cart-arches to right-hand of long flank W with boarded double doors.Pedestrian door to left,flanking small openings.Single loft window above close under eaves.Loft door in S gable,pillarbox set into wall at ground.
The Jerkin-headed gable is a characteristic of the Peterhead area.Newton Farmhouse sited to the W is not included in the listing.
