Early to earlier 19th century. Single storey 3-bay farm cottage.
Rubble red sandstone with stugged grey ashlar dressings. Low flat-roofed ashlar porch projecting at centre of W elevation with 2-leaf doors and with fanlight of original door evident under eaves of house behind; window in each flanking bay. 3 regularly spaced windows to E (rear) elevation. Low stone porch projecting form N elevation at
left, with small pointed arch window and 6-pane window on piend roofed
W return and doorway under ashlar coped skew to E. 12-pane glazing pattern in sash and case windows. Grey slates to piend roof. Coped end stacks.
Renton Hall Farmhouse is listed separately below.The farm was evidently active from the mid 18th century (Armstrong,map of Haddingtonshire,1773),and in the 19th century included a tile works.The cottage presumably served as the grieve's house.A rubble coped rubble wall separates the cottage from the steading proper.
