Driveway bridge, like to be by Charles Wilson as part of the work done at Lews Castle for Sir James Matheson, who acquired the estate in 1844; though (much less probably) it may be earlier, and built for the Seaforth MacKenzies. Ambitious-scale, large single segmental arch, rubble wih rock-faced ashlar voussoirs and abutment buttresses. Band course on upper part of stonework defines parapets, these topped by spiked wrought-iron railings.
