Circa 1840. Single storey, 3-bay, symmetrical, rectangular-plan
cottage with bay addition and outbuildings recessed to right. Whinstone rubble with painted red sandstone margins. Eaves band; quoin strips; base course; overhanging eaves.
SW ELEVATION: door at centre, 4-panelled with 4-pane letterbox fanlight, flanking windows. Gabled bay recessed to outer right, modern window inserted. 2-bay outbuilding to outer right, modern garage door inserted in penultimate bay to right, narrow door to outer right (red sandstone margins).
12-lying-pane sash and case windows. Grey slate piended roof; tall, rendered and painted, coped, wallhead stacks with octagonal terracotta cans.
INTERIOR: not seen 1993.
Boundary wall: rubble wall with semicircular coping bounds site to NE.
The cottage is shown on the 1st edition map and is identified as Shandon Bank along with the adjoining house of the presently named Inverallt. Inverallt and adjoining pavilions are listed separately.
