John Mylne (?) dated 1664. Square 4-storey block with
circular ogee roofed angle towers, rubble built. Twin
crowstepped gables on N. front with balustraded lead flat
between. Original front door replaced by arched fanlight
door piece and interior remodelled, 1800. (only centre N.
scale and platt stair surviving), E. 2-storey wing containing
new main staircase added, pinned whinstone with cherry
cocking. Tudor E. bay-window and N. addition, c.1815 probably
by J. Gillespie Graham, S. bay-window probably c.1860.
W. wing demolished.
Note similarity of features to Panmure House as first
built. (see Vitruvius Scoticus) and to Drummonie House
(1697-1703) which is one storey lower and without
towers but otherwise very similar in outline.
Porch demolished MAY 7, clocktower demolished c.1965.
