Built 1861. D and E Blyth, engineers. Masonry and iron
viaduct spanning Loch Ken on curving plan. Symmetrical 7-bay
elevations with concrete flat span and masonry round-arch
spans over river banks and 3 main iron spans over water.
Masonry all rusticated bull-faced red sandstone. Drum masonry
piers linked in piers by transverse arches, support
strengthened bowed truss of double Warren type, ferrous metal
spans of 51.8 metres. To small landward spans, low masonry
parapet with metal rail above.
