2019 photographs of the interior of the house show six-panel doors and molded architraves.
There is a U-plan courtyard of 19th century outbuildings at the southwest of the main house. The group is built of painted rubble stonework and has graded grey slate roofs. The coach house section to the northwest is slightly taller.
Hazelfield House is a notable example of an early 19th century plain classical style former farmhouse and associated outbuildings. The buildings are largely unaltered and retain their historic character both in architectural detailing and in the survival of the outbuildings. This group of buildings is prominently sited, overlooking a main road in a rural setting.
The property was probably built as the farmhouse for the Mid Hazelfield Farm and mill to the northeast.
The previous listed building record and photographs from 1986 recorded an early 20th century square entrance porch to the principal elevation. The porch has since been removed and replaced with an angled door canopy on moulded brackets.
Listed building record revised in 2019.
