David Bryce dated 1862 substantial remodelling of an earlier
house Scottish Baronial. 3 storey house with angle turrets
corbelled either from 1st or 2nd floor, except south east
full height turret, all with conical roofs. Rubble-built with
ashlar dressings. Asymmetrical facades; entrance front,
central projecting pilastered porch with obelisk finials and
other Jacobean detail, of Portmore type, wide bay to
right canted at ground, tall 1st floor, corbelled to square
at 2nd, 3 pedimented dormers; angle turrets, south east with
tall mullioned 1st floor window. Long garden elevation
asymmetrical, 3 and 4 storeys, central square turret
corbelled over 1st floor. Crowstepped gables, slated roofs.
