Small square tower house dated 1531, 3-storey with elaborately corbelled parapet with angle rounds, crowstepped cap-house; lower 2-storey wing probably 17th/early 18th century, round tower of 3 storeys. Remodelled
c 1822, crenellated parapets on wing, top stage of round tower buttresses and chimneyheads probably of that date; further alterations and additions later. Rubble-built, slated roofs.
The c 1822 alterations were for Alexander Crombie of Phesdo: his architect was probably John Smith of Aberdeen who was responsible for Phesdo iteself a few years earlier. The chimneyheads have typical Smith detail.
