Description

Initialled H.F. (Hugh Forbes) C.G. (Christian Garden) i.e. c.
1783-90, but walls may be older. Rubble-built parallelogram,
walls coped, segmentally arched entry on E. side with
urn, angle obelisks.

Statement of Interest

square instead of diagonally and the dimensions of the

table, podium and platform step all reduced. The balusters

are said to have come from the Earl Marischal's house

but were not originally part of the sundial. There are a

few other sundials of lesser note at Schivas, all imported.
