Description

1632, S aisle added 1634. Small roofless T-plan church harl
pointed rubble, tooled granite and red sandstone ashlar
margins. Entrance in W gable with coat of arms above and
richly carved apex bellcote with ball-finialled, pyramidal
caps and stumpy angle finials. 2 gallery windows in W gable;
E gable only partially standing. S aisle lit by
pointed-headed window in S gable and linked to church interior
by round-headed arch; aisle contains Forbes mausoleum.
Gallery stairs in SE and SW angles.

Statement of Interest

Old church abandoned in 1890 but remained roofed until circa

1960. Water colour of old church hangs in 1890 church.
