Roughly circular rubble walled burial ground on mounded site.
Entrance at E flanked by mid 19th century octagonal gatepiers
with shallow facetted caps and pair cast-iron gates. Various
17th, 18th and 19th century tombstones.
Site of Essil parish church; parish of Essil united with that
of Dipple in 1731 to form Speymouth parish. Alternative
spelling is Essle.
