Description

Mid 19th century, possibly incorporating earlier work. Sole
remaining fragment of former stables (demolished circa 1902).
SE facing 3-storey, tower-like block incorporating
segmental-headed archway in base (probably formerly leading
to inner stable court). Harled, tooled and polished ashlar
margins and dressings.
Large round-headed window with wooden moulded mullions and
transom in centre ground floor: tripartite above with heavily
moulded lugged angles to architraves; small round-headed
lights in centre of gable and in 1st floor of side elevations
which are lit NE and SW at wallhead by stack; slate roof with
projecting eaves linked at gablets by wooden stays with
pendant finials.
