Part early 18th century possibly incorporating older work, much reconstructed later in century and again altered c 1840. Single-storey 5-window E wing 1926. 2-storey harled with margins, whitewashed slated, S elevation 8 windows spaced 5-1-2; N. front approximately symmetrical, 3-window centre with pedimental chimney gable between advanced gabled
wings; E wing has blocked archway of mid 18th century date with early 19th century window insert. Straight skews, convex skewputts, SW angle piended, very simple treatment. Glazing original, c 1720-1840.
The old house of Mugdrum. It was replaced in 1786 and became the factors' residence. The new house being burned down it again became the mansion-house.
