Description

Early 19th century. Small square dovecote with pyramidal roof incorporated within the corner of the Manse walled garden.

Clay and dab, harled. 32 nesting boxes in upper half of cote (intermediate ceiling demolished) modelled from clay mix with wood or stone slab horizontals. Pair flight holes south and west elevations. Banffshire slate roof, modern weathervane.

Statement of Interest

Only clay and dab doocot in north-east of Scotland.

Ground floor originally the hen house.
