Description

1820-30. Single storey and attic over raised basement, 3-bay
house. Tooled rubble, tooled and polished ashlar dressings.
Centre entrance with corniced and columned doorpiece
approached by wide splayed flight of steps with cast-iron
handrail; fine beaded panelled door, fanlight with decorative
radial glazing. Single window in NE gable, 2 windows in SW:
12-pane glazing. 3 large modern swept dormers with multi-
pane glazing.
Tooled band course between basement and raised round floor;
wallhead band course and deep moulded wallhead cornice.
Corniced end stacks; slate roof.
Rear wing.
INTERIOR: interior fittings include beaded panelled window
shutters.
SERVANTS' HOUSE: mid 19th century. Single storey and attic,
3-bays; rubble, tooled rubble margins. Centre entrance;
centre piended dormer; lattice-pane glazing in ground floor.
Slate roof.
GARDEN WALLS: low coped front wall; pair square tooled ashlar
gatepiers with simple moulded caps. High rubble walls enclose
garden elsewhere.
