Mid 19th century pair cottages fronting U-plan steading,
forming enclosed court.
Cottages; pair single storey, 3-bay harled cottages, now as
single dwelling. Symmetrical south front of 2 doorways
flanked by windows, entrance to west masked by small modern
lean-to porch. 4- and 12-pane glazing; centre ridge and
shaped end stacks; piended slate roof.
Steading; U-plan, made up of 3 single storey and loft random
rubble ranges north, east and west; tooled rubble dressings.
Paired basket-headed cart bays in centre of south facade of
north range with centre loft loading door breaking wallhead
above, and flanked by stable accommodation. Ranges to east
and west with byres and barns; slit wall vents; louvred
windows; slate roofs.
Good example of the symmetrical planned dwelling and steading characteristic of the farms on low coastal road between
Lochaline and Drimnin.
