Earlier to mid 19th century. Row of 2 and single storey terraced
cottages, currently derelict and overgrown. Random rubble, probably formerly harled, Turriff sandstone dressings. 2-storey, 2-bay cottage to E; 2-leaf boarded door at ground, windows flanking. 2 windows breaking eaves at 1st floor in gabled dormerheads. 3 single storey, 3-bay cottages adjoining to E; middle cottage with bow projecting at centre with door and windows.
Sash and case windows, some original glazing. Grey graduated slates, ashlar coped skews and stacks.
The parish did not have a village centre until the 19th century (see OSA 1792 p507). Later the village was referred to as Kirkton (Barclay).
