Dated 1777. Single storey, rectangular-plan former school, now converted to garage and adjoining Rosaburn House and the Smiddy. White painted rubble, slate roof, ashlar-coped skew.
FRONT ELEVATION: boarded door to right, 3 rooflights; paired boarded garage doors at left return gable.
REAR ELEVATION: single window to left, smiddy advanced to right. INTERIOR: large room, with smaller room incorporated into Rosaburn House tearoom.
TELEPHONE KIOSK: Standard K6 telephone kiosk designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott, 1935, relocated here as an exhibit.
The building is probably the oldest surviving school building on Arran. The date is roughly inscribed on a stone at the centre of the front elevation. Forms part of a B group with Rosaburn House, Smiddy, Roadside Cottage, Cottage and Stable.
