Earlier 19th century. Small rectangular-plan harbour. Squared red sandstone blocks. Entrance at SW angle, steps at NE angle.
According to the OLD STATISTICAL ACCOUNT there was no harbour at
Brodick in 1793, but a harbour is mentioned in the NEW STATISTICAL ACCOUNT in 1843, and it appears on the first Ordnance Survey map. There is a plaque on the Brodick Castle policies wall opposite the harbour which records that 'King Edward and Queen Alexandra after their Coronation first set foot on Scottish soil at this place 26th August 1902'.
