Later to late 19th century. U-plan single storey stable court with cottage, stables and garaging. Square and snecked cream sandstone rubble; stugged ashlar dressings, stop-chamfered arrises; overhanging eaves, exposed rafters.
S RANGE: cottage/lodge. Outer elevation with broad projecting canted bay to left with window to each face and piended roof; gabled stone porch set obliquely in re-entrant angle to right; boarded door with fanlight in pointed-arch frame, blank shield above; window to centre bay; broad slightly advanced gabled bay to outer right, with bipartite window at centre and blank shield above. 3-bay courtyard elevation with door at centre and flanking windows. W gable with narrow window at ground and apex stack.
E RANGE: outer elevation with low single storey range to left containing 4 windows; tall gable of stable to right with window at ground and open wooden steps to hay loft door. Courtyard elevation with 3 segmental-arched openings; left one open with door behind, centre and right with 2-leaf boarded garage doors.
N RANGE: stable with hay-loft above. 2-storey outer elevation with 4 square windows. Courtyard elevation with segmental-arched opening to stables at centre, door to right and window to left; later single storey lean-to added to left. 2-storey W gable with window to both floors. Cast-iron rooflights.
4-pane timber sash and case windows (plate glass to bipartite window). Grey slates, coped stugged ashlar stacks.
The complex is almost entirely unaltered and presents its decorative
S front to Hunthill house, the drive to which passes along the E range of the court; the cottage therefore also serving as a lodge. It is B Grouped with the house.
