1892 gate lodge to hospital, likely to be part of 1889 composition byJohn Rhind of Inverness; alternatively, design may be later, and by H Saxon Snell who took over the project after Rhinds death in August 1889. Reproduces detailing eg chamfered angles; chimney stacks; finial; slate roof, plate glass sash and case windows of main hospital block. Single-storey l-plan, 3 bays facing main road to S with advanced gable left, inscription panel beneath stepped hood-mould, wide 2-leaf inner doorway with partly-glazed doors; bipartite windows both in gable to main road and in gable to driveway (ie E). Free standing fountain dated 1897, possibly commemorating royal jubilee.
See Leanchoil Hospital main block.
