Ruin of extensive building erected circa 1807 in the castle style for the Countess of Loudoun and Moira, Archibald Elliot, architect - Within this structure are incorporated portions of two older castles; a 15th - 16th century Keep of which there remains four stories, and a portion of a 17th century structure.
Fire 1941. No longer open to public because of vandals. Damaged by frost. Upgraded, Category B to A, 7 April 1997.
