Description

Extensive farmhouse range probably incorporating a late
18th/early 19th century house. Alterations and additions
Edward Blore 1843. Long 2-storey range with advanced,
crowstepped gables with wallhead stalks. Projecting porch
with shouldered heads to window and door; 3-light bay
window to right with stone slab pantile roof, window
above breaking eaves with finialled gablet head. Harled
with chamfered stone dressings to windows; corniced
stacks; slate roofs.

Statement of Interest

Listed chiefly for the rarity value of work by Blore.

Blore employed to make alterations by 2nd Duke of

Sutherland.

Edward Blore (1787-1879) worked on Buckingham Palace.
