Earlier to mid 19th century. 2-storey 3-bay farmhouse
with single storey wings, backing on to and enclosing
farm steading. Rubble, squared and coursed on SE
elevation; droved ashlar dressings.
SE ELEVATION: doorway at centre with 2-leaf doors and
fanlight, flanked by windows and with window to each
bay at 1st floor. Single storey, piend-roofed wings
flanking, each with window.
NW ELEVATION: stair window at centre; lean-to porch
added at ground to left, with 1st floor window and
oculus above; window to each floor to right. Doorway in
wing to right blocked as window and with small square
window flanking.
Variety of glazing patterns in sash and case windows;
plate glass glazing to main windows of 2-storey
elevation. Grey slates; piend roofs. Ashlar end stacks
with set-offs, abutted below by piend roofs of wings.
Formerly known as Midfield Mains. Unusually late
inclusion of farmhouse in close relation to ranges,
suggests that the present farmhouse may be a re-working
of an earlier building.
