Circa 1940. 2 pairs Canadian Timber Commissioners type
cottages each pair consisting of 2 dwellings. Each pair
single storey and attic and of 2 bays. Weatherboarded
cladding. Doors in outer bays under canopy supported by
timber posts and just breaking wallhead. Flanking
window with casements; similar window in each gable.
Low single storey, single bay wing set back at each
gable. Single pane casement windows. 2 swept dormers
to each dwelling at rear. Rear wallhead stack; concrete
tiled roofs.
Cottages appear on OS as Agricultural Cottages. Canadian
Timber Commissioners houses were constructed by the Scottish
Special Housing Association on various sites between
1937-41.
