Description

19th century mill incorporating single storey core of
similar plan-form said to date from 1730-40, raised to
2 storeys in early 19th century. Building converted as
dwelling house c.1985 by Leslie F Hunter, architect.
Harl pointed rubble, tooled rubble dressings. Wide 3-bay
regular E front, the centre gabled bay (former kiln)
slightly advanced and flanked by doorways right and left
closed with plank doors. Mainly horizontal glazing;
glazed ridge cupola above kiln; gabled and piended slate roof
with loft lights.
Large overshot mill wheel at S gable with renewed lade.
