Essentially a late 17th/early 18th century 2-storey L-plan
house with derelict) single storey vaulted structure
(possibly of 16th century date) adjoining south west angle.
Whitewashed rubble; mostly painted roll-moulded margins; some blocked/inserted openings. House may incorporate earlier
fabric, eg at (? cut down) west gable of south range (latter
gable has inserted door and is not aligned with north range):
squared upper quoins on east gable indicate alterations:
south western angle indented, with blocked low door, 2
additional bays to south elevation (irregular fenestration to
other elevations): north range has door in piended full
height (modern brick) projection to west; lean-to abuts north
gable. Mostly sash windows. End and axial stacks, modern
stack at south rises from ground. Straight skews; slate
roofs.
Adjoining vaulted structure would appear to be the remains of
an earlier building at the site; 2 north-facing doors; double
barrel vaulted interior. Cobbled courtyard.
Vaulted structure described in RCAHM INVENTORY, 1920 No. 233.
