Post 1850. Single storey, 3-bay cottage, with modern flat-roofed addition to rear. Whinstone rubble with painted margins and granite quoins. S ELEVATION: stone porch advanced at centre with steeply pitched gable, deep-set modern door, slit window in gablehead and to right return; square windows in flanking bays. Blank end gables. Car port adjoined to left gable. Trellis-pattern glazing to timber casement windows, and to slit windows and door panel. Overhanging eaves to mid 19th century roof, grey slates, and circle motifs incised in slates above outer bays (pair of circles to left). Later stack set at centre, comprised of base and truncated diamond stacks. Rubble whinstone boundary wall.
One of the small group of cottages which together constitute Glasserton village. The unusual glazing pattern is also used at the neighbouring cottage, Kettle Cottage, listed separately. There is a common identity to the cottage, which suggests that they were subject to re-working (perhaps by the owner of Glasserton House) in mid to later 19th century. There is a ruinous cottage on the roadside to the E of the Posting House, with well-mounted post box, which was probably formerly the smithy. Former Item No 6.
