Description

Probably 2nd quarter of 18th century, incorporating earlier
and chamfered ashlar margins; boulder base at N and thick
NW gable. Sash windows, smaller 1st floor windows to rear
(NE) (above modern kitchen wing) with 12-pane glazing.
SW ELEVATION: modern porch obscures original round-headed
key-stoned and architraved doorway; 4-pane glazing; moulded
eaves cornice; moulded skews continued as horizontal string
below stacks; moulded skewputts with rosettes; roof slightly
swept at eaves and covered with graded slates.
Barn and byre to rear (NE) in parallel arrangement; all
rubble-built with ashlar dressings and whitewashed. Barn is
18th century with slit ventilators in SW gable; extended to
NE earlier/mid 19th century - byre possibly contemporary.
