Description

Mid 18th century. 2-storey, 3-bay house extended to E early
in 19th century by 2 full height bays; later 18th century
axial stack.
stable adjoins NW angle, forming L-plan.
Original house: rubble-built with ashlar dressings, all
painted, with contrasting chamfered margins; S elevation:
open central porch with flanks built mainly of brick,
(ashlar) pedimented gable supported on 2 skewputts, these
presumably taken from main roof. Sash windows with 12-pane
glazing.
Straight skews; end stacks; slate roof.
N elevation asymmetrical, off-centre lean-to kitchen addition
also brick and flanked by (original) small lights, single
window above.
Stable: painted rubble and ashlar dressings, N gable
rebuilt in brick. E-facing door, timber stalls.
Addition to E (number 2): some alterations late in 19th and
in 20th centuries. Harled, with ashlar margins. S elevation
2 regular bays with modern low lean-to right, louvred or
sash and case windows. N elevation has 2 windowed bays, door
left, enlarged modern window to right. Single off-centre
All roofs slated.
